No customization means no need to worry about the armor and weapon's postion and animation with different character. The only reason that a brand new game has to stick to one pre-created character is saving the development budges. I just think it's silly that they then hide behind the fact that their choice of an established character somehow makes the experience more immersive and compelling, when, in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. There's many different reasons why they'd go this route with it (it's way easier to develop for, for one). Again, the developers' decision on this matter has absolutely nothing to do with any sort od narrative component given the broad vocabulary available to almost every known language on planet Earth.īy the by, I'm not deriding them on their choice in this matter. You can have the first option and still have the choice of character gender, appearance, and name. You can customise the character like you want, even a friendly one is possible. You play a random character which has been branded by live, convicted and imprisioned by law and released to fight the evil. Alongside our partners at Epic, Lords of the Fallen took to the stage at State of. That being the case, there's a reason why the developers decided on a single look and name for their main character and, despite words to the contrary from the devs themselves, it has absolutely nothing to do with "storyline and credibility". Unless there's limitation inherent in the Polish language that I'm not aware of, it's easy enough to write around multiple character genders and names without the narrative coming off as stilted or generic. Plenty of games have both comprehensive story telling and character customization. Dark Souls doesn't have any story that's why you can do whatever you want with the look.
